i. don’t. care.

i. don’t. care.

now this might seem a bit harsh or that it is spoken out of anger or frustration..but let me explain. as girls we battle the feelings of judgment and wondering what other people think about us at all times. but why? why do we give other people such power over us? and many times it’s not even based off something they actually did or said, it’s based off our “interpretation” of the way we think they perceive us. we are worried about saying the wrong thing, doing the wrong thing, wearing the wrong thing. sometimes it even make us unable to function normally without constant paranoia. BUT we can choose differently. we can Choose to say..i. don’t. care. Meaning..I’m not going to worry about what other people think constantly. They are not the ones that are important. God is our only “judge” and he already sent Jesus to forgive and save us. so by that, we should not ever worry about what another person says about us. this does not mean that we give up and don’t take care of ourselves but rather that we do things out of joy, not out of fear. that we don’t allow the fear of man/woman to dictate what we do. we are all created differently for a reason. we have a purpose in Christ. there is absolutely no need to try and fit into society’s mold. In fact Romans 12:2 even tells us “Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Jesus wants us to live our life right thru His renewing, not through what we think other people want from us. PHEW! this should really lift a load off of our shoulders. we have true freedom in Christ through this. not only women but men as well. this is not always easy (in fact, it can be very difficult), it is a daily struggle at times but it is worth it.

so in regards to the way other people view me..i will choose to say..

i. don’t. care.

reflection.

I saw this posting and thought I would share. It’s a great reminder that taking a look at things from another perspective can sometimes lead to revealing¬†actual truth.

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was “This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?”

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

“Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Without a doubt, I’d rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

We women, we gain weight because we accumulate so much wisdom and knowledge that there isn’t enough space in our heads, and it spreads all over our bodies.
We are not fat, we are greatly cultivated.
Every time I see my curves in the mirror, I tell myself: “How amazing am I ?! “

take heart.

My Princess…

Guard Your Heart

If I were to hand you a fragile, newborn baby girl, I know that you would protect her with your life. Your arms would be strong, your feet sure, and your eyes ever watchful. Be careful, My trusted one! For I have placed something just as precious and delicate within you. It is your heart…your very life! Treasure it. Protect it. Watch over it with all your strength. For the world and all it’s pleasures are like kidnappers who will stop at nothing to steal your heart away from Me and destroy it. I want what is best for you, My treasured one, and although you sometimes feel that the sinful pleasures of this world don’t seem harmful, they will separate you from Me. Just as a newborn is helpless without loving care, you also will suffer if your heart is taken from Me. So I’m asking you to guard your heart and cling to Me, the Source of your life.

Love,

Your King and your Life Giver
